Mission

 

 

Branches’ of Native Development (B.O.N.D) is to provide Aboriginal Artistic Cultural and Social setting to the Hamilton Aboriginal Community and to encourage cross cultural and enhanced understanding of the Aboriginal way of life, to understand our values and connection to Mother Earth and Turtle Island.

Background

 

In 1994, Branches of Native Development (BOND) was formed as an event coordinating body of the Aboriginal Organizations/Groups and community members in Hamilton, so that community events of an Aboriginal culture is established in the City of Hamilton. BOND will promote awareness of the culture and traditions and interact with multi-cultural groups in Hamilton and surrounding communities. Its members include, the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre, Native Women’s Centre, Urban Native Homes Inc., Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing Inc., Metis Nation of Ontario Training Initiatives, Metis Nation of Ontario Hamilton-Wentworth Council, Niwasa Head Start Pre-School, De dwa da dehs nye> Aboriginal Health Centre, McMaster Indigenous Studies, McMaster First Nations Student Association and Mohawk College Aboriginal Student Services.
